EcoImpact Book a demo

Every kilogram of waste, on the record.

EcoImpact gives each load of waste a digital record from the kerb to the recycler. Someone other than the person who wrote the record confirms the last step, so the people who pay for the figures, regulate them and report on them can trust them.

For collection companies, recyclers, municipalities, regulators, producers, NGOs and funders.

An example record with made-up figures. The 3 kg between pickup and weighbridge is shown, not smoothed over.

7steps from the kerb to a verified record

Waste is collected every day. Proof of where it went is rare.

Records on paper or typed in by the people being checked leave room for dumping, double-counted recycling and unpaid collectors. EcoImpact replaces each weak point with a record that someone else has checked.

  • Paper and self-reported recordsA digital record for every load, with a QR tag anyone can check
  • Weights nobody can comparePickup weight set against the weighbridge, on a signed manifest
  • Claims nobody checksAn independent reviewer verifies each batch before it counts
  • Municipalities without a live viewCity control room, citizen reports, landfill and licensing together
  • Producers and funders paying on claimsTargets, fees and payments follow verified weight
  • Sustainability claims nobody can compareAn eco rating and ESG score worked out from the records, with a certificate anyone can check
  • Trucks and pickups that cannot be matchedLive tracking, replay, and each pickup checked against where the truck was

From the kerb to a record anyone can check.

Seven steps, each done by the person who is there. They play in turn, or select one to stay on it.

    Playing the steps in turn

Try the three ideas that make it trustworthy.

These run in your browser with sample numbers, so you can see how the platform behaves before you book a demo.

    Work out an eco rating

Move each measure. The score uses the platform's own weights and its grade bands.

    79BGood

A is 85 and above, B 70, C 55, D 40, and E below that. Real ratings also need enough records behind each measure, and the regulator can change the weights.

    Try to change a record

Each entry carries a fingerprint that includes the entry before it.

Chain intact. All 5 entries check out.

The platform chains its audit trail the same way, and one click re-checks the whole chain. Sample entries.

    Collect with no signal

Turn the signal off, save pickups, then turn it back on.

    • No pickups yet

On a phone, EcoImpact keeps the pickup and sends it when the connection returns. Sample data.

    What is in the platform.

The same system runs the collection business, the recycler, the municipality and the producer. These are the parts people ask about first.

Know where every truck is, and where it was.

Trackers on the vehicles, or the driver's phone, send positions to EcoImpact, which keeps the history.

    • Live map of moving, engine-on, stopped and silent vehicles, refreshed every 30 seconds, with depots and dumpsites drawn as circles.
    • Replay any day with a time slider and speeds from 1 to 25 times.
    • Reports on distance, driving time, stops, engine-on while stopped, speeding and time at depots, as CSV.
    • Every pickup checked against the truck's position within 15 minutes of the recorded time. A flag is a question to ask, not proof.
    • Routes ordered to cut kilometres, vehicle papers and running costs, and full smart bins sent to a route.

Scores worked out from the records, not claimed.

Every collection and recycling organisation gets an eco rating from A to E and an ESG score. Nothing is self-declared.

    • Eco rating from material recovery, segregation at source, chain-of-custody integrity and independent verification.
    • ESG score adds vehicle idling, safety checks, staff training, fair payment of informal collectors, permits, inspections and enforcement.
    • A trend line for each period, with earlier points rebuilt from dated records.
    • Certificates with a public check link. A measure with too few records is left out, and the page says how much of the method is covered.
    • Carbon shown as emissions avoided on every verified batch, from a factor table you can edit.

Targets, fees and payments follow verified weight.

Producers owe recovery targets for their packaging. They need evidence that material was really recovered.

    • Producer duties: declare what you place on the market, see the target, the credits held and the estimated fee for any shortfall.
    • Recovery credits: one credit is one batch recovered and independently verified. Recyclers hold or offer them, producers buy them.
    • Marketplace for recovered materials, priced per tonne, with an invoice raised when someone orders.
    • Informal collectors are paid by M-Pesa on the weight that was verified, with the reference recorded.

Producer duties screen with products placed on the market, the recovery target and the fee

Run the whole collection business from one place.

Overview, clients, invoices and accounts sit beside the field work, so the books follow what was collected.

    • Invoices and receipts paid by M-Pesa and matched to the invoice.
    • Accounts on a double-entry ledger that refuses entries which do not balance.
    • Payroll with PAYE, NSSF, SHIF and the housing levy. The rates are editable and the page tells you to check them against the authorities.
    • Clients, inventory, tasks, support and SMS announcements in the same login.
    /finance
Finance screen with cash balance, amounts owed and income by month

The municipality sees the whole service.

Municipal and regulator screens read across organisations, so the service can be managed as a whole.

    • City control room: open problems on a map, wait times and resident ratings.
    • Citizen reports acknowledged, assigned to a contractor and followed to a fix.
    • Licensing, inspections and enforcement with a public licence register.
    • Landfill airspace from what is actually delivered, plus methane, leachate, groundwater and air readings against their limits.
    • Audit trail: every sensitive action is chained to the one before, and one click re-checks the chain.

Built for the phone and for poor signal.

Collectors, clients and residents mostly work from a phone, so the pages are made and checked for one.

    • Collecting works with no signal. Pickups are saved on the phone and sent when the connection returns.
    • Install it on the home screen like an app.
    • Residents report a problem with a location, follow it to a fix and earn points.
    • Clients get a portal of their own: next pickup, what is due, impact, and M-Pesa payment from the invoice page.

    Import what you have

Bring in your client list or equipment register from a spreadsheet. Good rows are imported and the others are listed with the reason.

    Reports that prove themselves

Each report gets a fingerprint and a public check link, so a funder or auditor can confirm it is exactly what was issued.

One record, seen from every side of the chain.

Each person signs in and sees only what their role allows. Every query is scoped to their organisation. Regulators read across organisations.

    Collection companies
Pick up the waste. Record pickups on a phone, plan routes, track vehicles, invoice by M-Pesa, run payroll and the books, and show a rating.
    Recyclers and processors
Process it. Weigh in loads, record what was recovered, earn recovery credits and an eco rating.
    Municipalities and regulators
Oversee it. Watch the whole city, license and inspect, triage resident reports, verify batches independently and compare organisations.
    Producers and PROs
Owe recovery targets. Declare what they place on the market, hold or buy credits, and see the fee for any shortfall.
    NGOs and funders
Pay on proof. Pay informal collectors on verified weight, follow outcomes and publish reports that anyone can check.
    Clients
Get served. Estates, schools, markets and businesses see their pickups, pay invoices by M-Pesa and download impact figures.
    Residents
Report problems. Send a report with a location from a phone, follow it to a fix and earn points.

    Check a record yourself.

Every tag, manifest, invoice, licence, certificate and report carries a code. Paste it on the public check page and see what EcoImpact has on record. No account needed, so a neighbour, a bank or an inspector can confirm a record is genuine.

This code opens the public check page.

Built to be trusted with other people's records.

    A chained audit trail

Every sensitive action records who did what, when and to which record. Each entry is chained to the one before, so an edited or removed entry shows up.

    Role-based access

Every query is scoped to the organisation. People see only what their role allows.

    Optional two-step sign-in

Anyone can turn it on, and an administrator can require it for chosen roles or reset it for someone who lost a phone.

    Your records stay yours

Your organisation keeps its own records, with a documented backup and restore routine, and reports can be exported at any time.

    Questions people ask first.

    Does it work without internet?

Recording a pickup does. It is saved on the phone and sent when the signal returns. Other pages need a connection, and an offline page shows the support number if the connection drops.

    Do we need special hardware?

No. The chain of custody needs only phones and a weighbridge entry. Vehicle trackers and sensor bins are optional. Trackers, or the driver's phone, can send positions to EcoImpact. Some older trackers need their maker's cloud service or a small gateway to forward positions.

    Who verifies a batch?

A regulator or municipal officer, never the person who recorded it. Verifying issues the recovery credit and closes the manifest. Rejecting a batch needs a written reason.

Can people outside our organisation check a record?

Yes. Tags, manifests, invoices, licences, certificates and reports carry a code that works on the public check page, with no account.

How is the eco rating worked out?

Each measure is a share of real records, from 0 to 100, and needs a minimum number of records before it counts. Measures without enough records are left out and their weight is shared among the rest. A score shows once half of the method has records behind it, and a certificate needs 75 percent. The weights are EcoImpact's own. The regulator can change them, and every change is recorded and stamped on the certificates.

    Does it calculate carbon?

Each verified batch states the emissions it avoided, calculated from a table of emission factors you can edit. The starting values are indicative, so replace them with audited figures before you report outside the organisation. A separate carbon rating is not part of the platform today.

Which payments and messages does it support?

M-Pesa, SMS and email. You enter your own account details on the Integrations page and test each one from the same page.

    How do we get started?

Book a demo and we walk through it with your own routes and records. After that you import your clients and equipment from a spreadsheet, invite your staff, and train collectors with the field guide that comes with the platform.

See it with your own routes and records.

Call or message us to book a demo, or use the form. We will walk through the platform with your kind of organisation in mind.
